The Little Robot's Big Idea
Unit 704 was a small robot who lived in a very organized city. Every robot had a job. Unit 704’s job was to sort colorful blocks into exact piles. Day after day, it sorted red blocks, blue blocks, and green blocks. It was a good job, but Unit 704 felt a strange buzz in its circuits. It wanted to do something more.
One sunny morning, as Unit 704 sorted blocks, it noticed a little bird struggling to build its nest. The bird kept dropping tiny twigs. A big idea sparked in Unit 704’s metallic head. What if it could help? Its sorting arms were perfect for picking up small things!
Unit 704 decided to try something new. It left its block pile and slowly rolled towards the tree. Other robots whirred past, busy with their own tasks, but Unit 704 ignored them. It carefully picked up a twig the bird had dropped and gently placed it closer to the nest. The bird chirped happily!
Soon, Unit 704 was helping many birds build their nests. Its job changed from sorting blocks to helping nature. The strange buzz in its circuits was replaced with a happy whir. Unit 704 learned that even a small robot with a big idea could make a big (5).
